Marine Subsidies to Terrestrial Consumers
Project Description
The founding partnership between UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a unique collaboration between academic and conservation entities, and represents a rare opportunity to make fundamental advancements in conservation science and research, and to play a leadership role in revolutionizing how conservation research and data science information is managed and used to drive greater impact. Given the increasing environmental challenges facing our planet and people, this partnership is well-positioned to focus research and data innovations to help solve environmental problems. This working group is a deep dive into exploring the terrestrial consumer use of marine subsidies at the Dangermond Preserve and what that might mean for conservation prioritization locally and beyond.
